Many visitors to Canada need a temporary resident visa (visitor visa), while others from visa-exempt countries need an electronic travel authorization (eTA). Applicants must satisfy IRCC that their visit is temporary, that they have enough funds, and that they will leave Canada at the end of their stay.
Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents may also apply for a Super Visa, which allows longer visits.
